Nurturing Hope.
Guiding Growth.
Empowering Children.
At Logos Community Counseling, we are committed to walking alongside children and families with care, compassion, and clinical excellence. We believe that every child deserves a space where they feel safe, seen, and supported, and our Children’s Therapy Program is designed to meet them right where they are. We understand that every child’s story is different, which is why we tailor our approach to honor their individual needs, strengths, and circumstances. From the very first session, our goal is to create a nurturing environment where healing begins, trust is built, and lasting growth is possible.
Serving children and adolescents between the ages of 4 and 17, our approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and personalized to each child’s unique emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, trauma, mood changes, attention issues, or navigating major life transitions, we’re here to help them build confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills.
Our team of experienced therapists is trained in a range of effective treatment modalities, including:
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
TF-CBT is a structured and evidence-based therapy for children and teens who have experienced trauma, abuse, or loss. It helps them process painful experiences, reduce distressing symptoms, and rebuild emotional strength. Caregiver involvement is a key part of the process, promoting healing for the entire family.
Key Benefits of TF-CBT:
- Helps children process traumatic experiences in a safe, structured way
- Reduces symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD
- Builds healthy emotional coping and communication skills
- Strengthens relationships through caregiver involvement
- Promotes long-term healing for both the child and the family
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps children understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. It teaches them how to challenge unhelpful thoughts, manage emotions, and make better choices. CBT is a practical, structured approach that encourages confidence and healthy development.
Key Benefits of CBT:
- Helps children recognize and challenge negative thinking patterns
- Promotes healthier emotional and behavioral responses
- Improves decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Builds self-confidence and emotional awareness
- Effective for a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for Kids and Teens
DBT supports children and teens who experience intense emotions or struggle with impulsivity and relationships. It teaches mindfulness, emotional control, and healthy communication. The skills learned help children build stronger relationships and respond more calmly to challenges.
Key Benefits of DBT:
- Teaches emotional regulation and distress tolerance
- Encourages mindfulness and present-moment awareness
- Supports healthy communication and relationship skills
- Promotes accountability and positive decision-making
- Helps children respond to emotional challenges with resilience
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
ABA is a structured approach designed to help children with Autism and developmental challenges build new skills and reduce behaviors that interfere with learning. Each plan is customized, helping children grow in communication, independence, and confidence.
Key Benefits of ABA:
- Allows children to express emotions through creative play
- Supports emotional healing from trauma or anxiety
- Enhances communication and social interaction skills
- Promotes behavioral improvement through guided play
- Helps children feel safe, understood, and supported
We also recognize that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. That’s why we work closely with parents and caregivers to provide tools, guidance, and support for long-term success. Through intentional collaboration, we aim to strengthen the family unit, foster emotional growth, and help each child thrive; mentally, emotionally, and relationally.

What to Expect in the First Session
We understand that starting therapy can bring uncertainty, especially for children. That’s why our first session is all about building comfort and trust. The therapist will connect with your child through conversation, play, or observation and may speak with you to better understand your concerns.
Together, we will begin shaping a personalized plan that fits your child’s unique needs. Parents will also receive guidance on how to support progress between sessions, creating a team approach to your child’s growth.
